Perks? Simple food like burgers, fries, sandwiches in a relatively quiet atmosphere.
Why so special?  This place looks and feels like a real drive in movie theater complete with tables made out of antique cars.  A giant movie screen plays old school sci-fi while you enjoy your food.  It's a dark place and might be scary for some kids.   
Personal Experience: We ate here on our very first trip and really enjoyed the experience.  My husband is a picky eater and was hoping for a grilled cheese.. they were unable to accommodate his request (they only had rye bread and Swiss cheese) so he opted for a kid's cheese pizza which ended up tasting like cardboard.  I had a Rueben sandwich and could not have been more pleased with my selection.  I also had a milkshake.. YUM!  Our kids were seated in the booth in front of us and my son was given a driver's license so he could be up there.  It really is a great themed restaurant.
